project .44's ferocious The System Doesn't Work comes to CD for 20th anniversary
With an additional fifteen minutes of era-specific cuts featuring members of Ministry, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Pigface, Killing Joke and Nine Inch Nails
Originally released by seminal industrial label Invisible Records, this essential industrial-metal album features an all-star lineup of players including members of Ministry, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Pigface, Killing Joke, Nine Inch Nails and more.
Five years ago, GIVE/TAKE released the 15th Anniversary Edition of Chicago-based project .44’s The System Doesn’t Work. The newly remastered edition contained previously unreleased material, special anniversary artwork and digital bonus content, with vinyl and digital versions available worldwide.
Now, on the 20th anniversary of the album, we’re pleased to introduce a new open-edition CD. This version—with even further expanded artwork—includes fifteen more minutes of era-specific music exclusive to the CD: the rare “12 Inch Mix” of blistering opener “Warpath,” and original mixes from the 2005 sessions of both “Never~Nothing” and “Free."
Eschews guitars for synthesizers to capture a uniquely assaulting sound. Evokes metal gods, but reconstructs the form with carefully crafted – and truly brutal – electronic textures.
"A fantastic gothic darkwave cover of the classic Garbage tune." - Ryan Cain, Rolling Thunder
