"Grass Time," from EbE404 blooms into maxi-single, featuring a CARTHAGE remix
Attention is everything. It will be our end.
Flora presents three alternate versions of "Grass Time," serving as potent preview of post-industrial artist EbE404's upcoming full-length Cortisol.
Three unique mixes cross a liminal threshold, with two stylistic extremes, anchored by a brilliant remix from post-metal/shoegaze project CARTHAGE (Damian B. of khost). Each version looks at the same fact and sees different things while being pushed, pulled, and warped by tech.
The "Anti-Fascist Disco Mix," awash with glitch, distortion, and sliced melody, grows more chaotic and harder-hitting throughout its runtime. The "Counterpoint Mix,” in pure CARTHAGE fashion, embraces the dark ambience of the source material and presents the gorgeous analog tones of the original, along with distant, driving rhythms, a perfectly in-pocket bass groove and electric piano that fades into static-laden obscurity. Finally, "Grass Time (Single Edit)" rings out in a moment of clarity, where luminous tones flicker and gleam just enough to glimpse the darkness on the other side.
Flora feels like a time out of place and marks the first official release from Minneapolis-based EbE404 in three years.

"Alternate realities are a strange thing, especially when they are shaped by robots and digital warlords with increasingly obvious evil intent. Flora slips into that reality, like slowly easing into a warm bath and slipping below the frothy water. Attention is everything, it will be our end—so enjoy the distractions." - EbE404

JK FLESH / MONRELLA - SHOUTING THE ODDS
“This is cruising the highway at midnight techno...The programmed drums slamming like vault doors and classic rave synths pushed through echo and reverb until the whole thing is a like a disorienting, half-remembered dream.” - The Wire
