Throwing us back to the heyday of synth pop, yet delivered with modern edge, Cellmod's "The Untold Truth" deploys stuttering drums, piercing leads, and rapturous vocals courtesy of dark wave vets You Shriek.
The expertly-composed and climactic single is the final song reveal prior to the release of Rituals, but Miami-raised Cellmod has even more in store. Though each song on the EP was the result of experimentation and deep personal reflection, taken as a whole, Rituals is a carefully-curated masterwork.
"We all have secrets. Not necessarily bad ones, just personal ones. Written by Raziel Panic, 'The Untold Truth' is inspired by being on a journey that feels dangerous yet euphoric. It’s a story of empathy, sympathy, and entering into an unknown world." -Cellmod
Cellmod's upcoming Rituals will be released in two parts:
Witnessed – The four singles (each featuring a uniquely paired vocalist) collected as a whole in EP format, and; Performed – A definitive long-play version, painstakingly produced as a seamless, continuous mix including instrumental companions and a .pdf booklet.
"A melodic journey imbued with depth and passion. In 'Destructive Rituals,' music becomes a ritual, an intimate ceremony where art and emotion intertwine." -Electro Emotions
"Leaning hard into the pop aspects of synth pop with a self-aware snark that burrows into the ear... A high energy synth explosion." -Sounds and Shadows
