GIVE/TAKE Winter finale
In the Midwest, where GIVE/TAKE has its roots, winter isn’t just a fleeting situation, it’s an event — no, a lifestyle. No one ever comes out the other side of a Minnesota winter the same. Much like the ocean, it's something you must respect, so it doesn’t swallow you whole. You either come to accept this or get the fuck out; but even if you leave, the winter never leaves you.
Over the next few months, we’re embracing this part of our identity and in that spirit of honor and reverence, we’ll deliver four uniquely congruous releases which touch on varying themes of isolation, climate change, the literal cold, and even the oft-icy feel of the electronics we’re renowned for.

Turn on, tune in, Opt Out – IDM/power noise purveyor Dissociate unbinds new EP
The latest work from Minneapolis-based Dissociate was conceived with an emphasis on beat-driven rhythms, combined with an atmospheric sci-fi score. Dark, mysterious, and hypnotic, Opt Out lures the listener to escape from reality into a twisted industrial dystopia.
By juxtaposing sounds that don’t exist naturally with motifs that are inherently recognizable, Dissociate encourages listeners to shed their mental and physiological binds and to enter into the music, creating new relationships with the uncanny sounds. Compelling, demanding, and darkly alluring, Opt Out rewards listeners with new layers of audible reality.

Dissociate, the science fiction-inspired dark electronic project from musician and sound designer Jonathan Ford is spontaneity personified. For over 20 years, Ford has been manufacturing aural chaos from hardware sound sources, live synthesizers, triggered samples and abused filter banks in real-time. As a result, each Dissociate performance offers a unique exploration, bringing forth instant musical discoveries within this confined aural space. Ford has performed with Nitzer Ebb, Covenant, Haujobb, Alter Der Ruine, Imperative Reaction, Rotersand and more.

Bijou Noir - Enough Cold For A Lifetime
With its airy and vintage production, the single could lull you into a false sense of warmth — until its breakdown, at which point, Watkins’ wintry vocals pierce the clouds to induce exposure.
