Disquieting pentalogy from KK NULL and Dao De Noise
Legendary Japanese noise artist KK NULL (the mastermind behind ZENI GEVA, who has worked with luminaries such as John Zorn, Sonic Youth, Merzbow, and countless others), has paired with Ukrainian composer Dao De Noise on a consummate scoring of pure atmosphere and suspense.
From the onset of Digital Demons, the duo make it apparent you are embarking on an enigmatic and hellish expedition. Cinematic, choral drones, mischievous synth arpeggios and space echo tape delay stabs coalesce into pulsating static.
"Digital Demons embodies how ancient demons who have penetrated modern networks begin their new era of existence." says Dao De Noise. "This is fraught with many mysterious cases occurring in our modern world."
Throughout its 45 minute odyssey, glitches in the din take the shape of code, enveloping subconscious clanging industrial rhythms reminiscent of early Einstürzende Neubauten, as well as synth work that stands to the highest of IDM convictions.
The all-consuming pentalogy releases on limited edition cassette and digital worldwide today, Friday, October 13th for Cassette Week 2023 via GIVE/TAKE and Justin K Broadrick's (Godflesh) Avalanche Recordings.
