GIVE/TAKE winter presses on
In the Midwest, where GIVE/TAKE has its roots, winter isn’t just a fleeting situation, it’s an event — no, a lifestyle. No one ever comes out the other side of a Minnesota winter the same. Much like the ocean, it's something you must respect, so it doesn’t swallow you whole. You either come to accept this or get the fuck out; but even if you leave, the winter never leaves you.
Over the next few months, we’re embracing this part of our identity and in that spirit of honor and reverence, we’ll deliver four uniquely congruous releases which touch on varying themes of isolation, climate change, the literal cold, and even the oft-icy feel of the electronics we’re renowned for.
We now offer you ManifestiV's confrontational vision of mankind's collective winter.

Legacy - ManifestiV and mankind's duality laid bare
Duality is the nucleus of ManifestiV. With their two core members (Paragraph Taylor and Lillith) being a pair of married Geminis, it could be no other way. While the themes and lyrics on new full-length Legacy focus on climate-driven apocalypse, their focus on the end of the world stems not from a hatred of humanity, but of an unabashed love for it. This dual nature also sees the group compellingly splitting the album between songs with vocals and full-on instrumentals.
The origins of Legacy began in earnest in July of 2021, with producer lcn1 (Christopher Hunter) and Paragraph setting up at the latter’s permaculture farm in Texas to freely produce demos. In another nod to their eternal duality, Paragraph carefully curated a playlist of inspirational videos from artists as disparate as Björk, Trentemøller, PJ Harvey, Julien-K, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and Nine Inch Nails and put them on shuffle, while freely improvising over loops from lcn1 with as little pre—or post—meditation as possible. Later, Lillith joined the fray, adding her textured and varied touch as a vibraphonist. The songs began taking shape in 2022, as the band’s highly collaborative process continued throughout the summer. lcn1 and Ryan A placed their final touches on the album during the fall in what the band describes as “intense, low and slow mixing sessions.”
Forever blazing their own trail, Paragraph shreds adroitly on a downtuned guitar while Lillith employs her handmade electric vibraphone. Ryan A absolutely pummels on drums, lcn1 provides the atmospherics, and bassist Kevin Porter stridently compliments Paragraph and Lillith’s studied musicality.
Legacy is a warning and a bold statement: the connections we share and the infinite possibilities of humanity are worth fighting for.
Available for pre-order now, Legacy, the groundbreaking, heavy psychedelic charge from industrial iconoclasts ManifestiV releases digitally and on limited CD (with plastic-free packaging) on February 3, 2023. Not to be missed live, the band plans to tour beginning this summer.
