ManifestiV launch heavily electronic and experimental pre-mix EP
When we announced that Dallas-based experimental industrial group ManifestiV had signed with GIVE/TAKE last year, we expected to wait some time for new material. But, in typical ManifestiV fashion, the band had a surprise in store.
The Bitter Truth contains three remixes of songs from ManifestiV's prior albums as well as a triptych of compositions which offer a fleeting glimpse into the band's upcoming formal release.
The heavily electronic experimental EP takes the listener on a ride not unlike the one depicted in band member EvE’s cover painting: an escape ship leaving a deadened planet. ManifestiV likens the remixes of the earlier material which begin The Bitter Truth to our planet today: slowly decimating but still recognizable as home. By the time the release reaches the remix of "Drummer Dust" by label mate KPT, listeners are launched past the dying atmosphere of Earth as the original tracks are left far beyond abstract and barely recognizable...like a deep feeling of déjà vu. From here, the remixes of the band’s forthcoming material from artist lcn1 feel like messages to the deck of life on Earth’s escape ship, scoring the desolate feeling of seeing a home planet shrink in the distance for the last time.
Those of you in our circle might recall ManifestiV from their performance in our first COVID-20 live streaming series at the very onset of the pandemic. Or more appropriately here, you may recognize the name from our artists remixing their material, or they in turn, remixing ours.
