Double Diamond Sun Body
“Double Diamond Sun Body is the personified astral projection of its creator’s interior world; a physically manifested concept.” -Forbes
Under the moniker, Robbie C Williamson produces large scale art exhibitions. As a musician and composer, Williamson has been part of numerous storied groups, including Portland’s industrial Hitting Birth, the Lady Gaga-endorsed electro pop We Are The World and synth pop critical darlings Dreamers, also frequently collaborating with acclaimed LA choreographer Ryan Heffington (Arcade Fire, Florence and the Machine, LSD, Sia).
Williamson’s scores, which The New York Times characterizes as “The softer, glummer side of Neil Young”, range from Wu Tsang’s Wildness to Ryuhei Kitamura’s Midnight Meat Train which won the SCI FI Jury Award at Gérardmer. Hollywood features range from Gamer (with Gerard Butler) to That Little Extra (featuring Ryan Reynolds).
Numerous independent features and festival favorites scored include Sundance hit Dandelion, The Youth In Us (starring Lucas Haas), Path Lights, Pathology (with Alyssa Milano) and Michael Stipe’s Hurricane Katrina documentary, Into The Sun.
Williamson’s small screen work consists of the hugely successful revamp of 90210, of which he both co-wrote the show’s theme and provided the score for over 90 episodes.
His directorial work has been prominently featured at LACMA, MOCA, MAMA Gallery, USC Fisher Museum of Art, on Vice and other international venues and media outlets, while his films have received premieres at Sundance, Tokyo International Film Festival and International Film Festival Rotterdam to name just a few.
